Level I (8 Week Series, Drop In Also Welcome)
The Level I class is most appropriate for beginners as well as continuing practitioners. Over the course of eight weeks, we will learn the fundamental standing postures, forward bends, back bends, twists, and will begin to explore inversions. Our explorations will be care-filled and respectful, matching the challenge level of each posture with individual abilities.
Special pricing is available to those who pre-register for the entire eight week session. Drop in participation is also welcome.
Level II (8 Week Series, Drop In Also Welcome)
The Level II class builds upon the expertise gained in the Level I classes. The confidence and strength gained at Level one is an excellent motivation to progress naturally to Level II. Here we will gradually introduce more challenging postures over the course of eight weeks, including twists, additional standing and seated postures, and more advanced inversions including headstand. All postures will continue to be done respectfully, honoring your new abilities.
Special pricing is available to those who pre-register for the entire eight week session. Drop in participation is also welcome.
The All Level classes are open to any individual from beginner to advanced. These are general balanced yoga classes designed to invigorate and refresh the body as well as calm the mind.
Therapeutic Yoga: Restorative (Drop In)
The power of relaxation should never be underestimated. This class will utilize a series supported postures to bring gentle opening and relaxation to the body and a deep sense of calming to the mind. Simple breathing practices will also be incorporated to enhance the ability to relax completely. Wear loose fitting, warm clothing.
Therapeutic Yoga: Healthy Backs (Drop In)
Millions of North Americans suffer from back pain. Much of this pain can be minimized or eliminated through simple yoga postures and practices. These classes will include classic yoga postures and breathing to relax, lengthen, and strengthen the spine.
Prepare to work hard. In these sessions, we will explore the very physical side of yoga. When balanced with a complete practice of yoga, acquiring the strength and stamina that yoga can offer is an excellent benefit to your overall health!
With the format of a supportive study group, these classes will explore the transformative psychology of the classic yoga text Bhagavad Gita. The Gita was one of the primary texts used by Gandhi as he shaped his personal life. Not a bad place for us to start! Texts will be provided.
Asana (posture) practice is the third limb of classical yoga’s eight limbed approach to Self awareness. What about the other limbs? In each of these sessions, we will explore one or more of the remaining limbs of yoga. The class name is a bit of a joke, the practices are delightfully not.
Daily, silent group meditation is offered for
practitioners from any tradition. These sessions are free and unguided.
Come experience the benefits of regular meditation with a group.
